Description: Agave potorum Kichijokan is a small growing agave to 12 inches tall by 12 inches wide with short blue/gray leaves with beautiful imprints on the backe side of the leavesn and red spines. This selection is thought to be a Japanese cultivar of Agave potatorum and is highly sought after. Little irrigation is required in coastal gardens, but it is best to provide some supplemental irrigation in hotter inland gardens. It is cold hardy to around 25 degrees. Agave potatorum comes from the semi-arid highlands, in the altitudes between 4,000 and 7,000 feet in Puebla and Oaxaca Mexico. This cultivar resembles a diminutive form of the species but some consider it to be a form of Agave parryi.

The spiral is formed by five ranks of leaves which contain between 15 and 30 leaves each. The plants are stemless and usually not multiple although they grow in dense groups. It has become a prized collector's item and is possibly also used for muthi. Due to this and the specific habitat requirements, the numbers in the wild have diminished and it is now listed as endangered. zones 9-11

Description:  This midsized kangaroo paw has foliage to 2 feet tall with lightly branched 3 foot flower stems bearing masses of bright yellow flowers throughout spring and summer and sporadically the rest of the year. Description: Clerodendrum paniculata (Pagoda flower) is an erect, open semiwoody shrub with large evergreen leaves and huge showy clusters of orange-red flowers held above the foliage. The flowers within the pyramid shaped cluster are tiered, like a Japanese pagoda. The showy display lasts from summer through autumn with additional sporadic flowering throughout the year in frost free climates. USDA Zones 8 - 11. Pagoda flower is a returning perennial in zones 8B and 9. It can be expected to sprout back in spring after dying to the ground in winter. Very severe winters may reduce the amount of flowering. Plant it near a south facing wall for added protection from cold winters. In frost free areas pagoda flower is a short lived, evergreen shrub.

Description: With it’s long, tropical looking leaves, Cordyline australis ‘Red Star’ is an exceptional plant to use for height and texture in container plantings. Red Star Cordyline has dark burgundy red foliage and grows to about 36 inches tall and it’s leaves are longer and more narrow than that of the Dracaenas . Use this red leaved Cordyline with the lime green of Ipomoea 'Marguerite' or 'Tri-color' for a great contrast in mixed containers and because Cordyline or Cabbage Palms are hardy, where Dracaenas are not, you can pair it in the border next to larger leaved plants. Cordyline ‘Red Star’ needs good light to maintain it’s dark color and don’t let it dry out between watering. Great for use in borders, beds, and containers. zones 9-11
