Anigozanthos ‘Yellow Gem’

Family: Haemodoraceae
Common Name: Yellow Gem Kangaroo Paw
Origin: Hybrid selection from Western Australian species; valued for its vivid yellow blooms, height, and adaptability

Description:

‘Yellow Gem’ is a vigorous, large-flowered Kangaroo Paw celebrated for its luminous golden-yellow blooms and tall, upright habit. Mature plants form strong clumps of green, strap-like leaves 24–36 in (60–90 cm) tall, with flowering stems that reach 4–6 ft (1.2–1.8 m). The velvety, tubular flowers open in clusters along sturdy stems, creating a bright, cheerful display that lasts through the warm months.

Highly durable and long-lived, ‘Yellow Gem’ performs beautifully in full sun and well-drained soils. It’s ideal for mass plantings, commercial landscapes, or as a bold vertical accent in waterwise gardens. The long-lasting flowers are also excellent for cut arrangements.
